June 19th–26th: A full week of summer fishing excitement! Bring your best tall tale and your stoutest rod for our Annual Runyan Lake Fishing Contest—a week of friendly rivalry where everyone gets a shot at glory. Whether you actually land the whopper or simply tell the story best, expect sun‑splashed mornings, late‑day showdowns, and plenty of good‑natured bragging rights. If your bobber heads straight to the bottom, keep a firm grip on your pole and watch for Old Finn—he’s legendary for tangling lines, testing tackle, disappearing without a trace, and sending cheaters for an unexpected swim. Practice good stewardship: use proper handling, pack out trash and unused bait, secure your lines, and follow local regulations so Old Finn remains calm while he keeps our lake healthy for generations.
